MOD Packaging update.
At MOD, we're all about good health. We’re always looking for new ways to support our community in feeling their best. We believe that healthy people and a healthy planet go hand in hand. That’s why we designed our packaging to make you proud of your purchase.
According to Statista , the U.S. is the world’s largest generator of plastic waste. Much of this waste comes from single-use plastic, including packaging and water bottles. If not properly recycled, this plastic waste finds its ways into waterways, leading to devastation of oceans and marine life. At MOD, we believe that small changes have the power to snowball into massive impact. As a small business we believe it’s our responsibility to set the tone for a more intentional packaging procedure.
If you’ve purchased a MOD Cold Press Juicer recently you may have noticed that something is a little different about our packaging. It’s no accident that our unboxing experience stands out from the crowd. As an appliance manufacturer, we recognize that packaging, whilst important, can be a huge source of waste.
In 2019 we decided to look at the packaging status quo with fresh eyes. We set out on the task of creating more sustainable packaging for our juicer that still maintained product safety in transit. As a result, we are proud to say that we have eliminated 95 percent of the plastic in our packaging in less than 12 months.
We have achieved this by replacing the protective, plastic bag around our juicer base with a reusable jute bag that’s biodegradable and compostable. We have also replaced the plastic packaging that was once used to protect other parts of the juicer with biodegradable paper. In a move that has pleased many waste-conscious customers, we have now swapped our plastic drink flask for a glass bottle. MOD is now on track for our juicer packaging to be 100 percent plastic-free and biodegradable by 2022. We are planning to make similar changes to our blender and accessories packaging over the next 12 months.

MOD is also a strong advocate for reducing produce waste in the home.
Our juicer and blender enable customers to use up aging or excess fruit and vegetables, transforming them into delicious and nutritious recipes. Our customers also enjoy being able to re-use their juice pulp in other recipes, such as in muffins, soups or even crackers. This means that the entire process of blending or juicing can become entirely waste-free with MOD.
